CIL provides a range of opportunities for organizations and industry leaders to connect with our research community and engage with our students in meaningful and impactful ways. As a Center, we strive to integrate research and practice, and value the opportunity to learn from and with partners across all industries, and have worked with organizations including NASA, the United Nations, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and many others.

Our students appreciate the opportunity to learn directly from leaders through instruction, mentorship and storytelling. Similarly, our alumni and industry partners find great value and reward in spending time with Carey students in and out of the classroom. Contact us to discuss opportunities to engage with CIL, which include:

  • Partnering and participating in signature CIL courses and events
  • Collaborating with CIL faculty on cutting-edge research
  • Supporting CIL outreach and media efforts to translate research into practice
  • Bringing CIL in to your organization’s learning and development offerings

Get Involved

We invite alumni, affiliates and partners to participate in our programs and courses throughout the year. Specifically, we invite you to consider mentoring our students in two of our flagship leadership experiences:

The Innovative Leadership in Uncertain Times course. ILIUT is a three-day accelerated course designed to help hone critical leadership skills while working within a diverse team to solve complex problems in a simulated fast-paced professional environment. The experience includes an immersive challenge that require students to engage and interact with industry leaders who serve in mock roles throughout the simulation.

The CIL Fellows foundations course and leadership treks. Each CIL Fellows cohort starts the program with an immersive residency course for building self-awareness in influencing others, skillfully leading teams and navigating organization challenges and dynamics. Fellows continue their learning through immersive on-site “treks” to see leadership in action in non-traditional settings. Past treks have taken students inside NASA, the United Nations, high-end restaurants, and many other unique locations. Industry partners and sponsors can serve in a variety of roles in the program, from volunteering in a simulated leadership exercise during the Fellows’ foundations course to supporting a trek to their organization.
